On Wednesday March 20, 2019, quick-thinking staff at the Shoppers Drug Mart on 351 Cornwall Road in Oakville recognized a prolific shoplifter suspect from prior thefts at their location.
Officers responded quickly and were able to arrest the female as she was leaving from the store.
Further investigation, with the assistance of the Retail Theft Unit, identified this female as allegedly responsible for a total of seven thefts throughout Oakville and Burlington.
The combined value of the thefts is in excess of $20,000.
The 39 year old woman from Toronto has been charged with:
- Theft under $5,000 (six counts)
- Theft over $5,000 (one count)
She was held pending a bail hearing on March 21, 2019.
