Weekly Oakville crime report: April 17-23

Halton Regional Police responded to 49 crime-related incidents in Oakville, a small drop from the last week of March.

Halton Regional Police responded to 42 crime incidents in Oakville, from April 17 to April 23. 2024. Compared to the week before, the number of daily incidents actually dropped by an exact average of one less incident per day.

Last Monday, April 18 was the busiest day, with 11 reported incidents. Old Oakville residents reported the greatest number of crimes in this period (eight in total.)

In addition, there were eight reported incidents of theft from a motor vehicle. Oakville residents are reminded to keep vigilant of their belongings at all times.

Over the past seven days, Halton Police responded to five incidents of bicycle theft at a house in Oakville. If this rate stayed consistent, there would be 240 incidents a year. In the last 30 days, however, there have been 11 incidents of bicycle thefts at a house.

In the past six months, there were 45 incidents of bicycle thefts in Oakville and 145 in the past year.
