Cram-a-cruiser a huge success for local food bank

Hundreds of donations were made during a successful four-hour event outside the busy supermarket

The Halton community has once again proven its willingness to help out, filling a Halton Regional Police cruiser - and then some -- with food and dry good products on Saturday at the Fairview Street Longo's.

Whether it was the good weather, or a busy Saturday, the turnout was great, causing minor chaos in the busy parking lot for the Cram-A-Cruiser event, that saw HRP and Burlington Food Bank partner to collect things such as dry pasta, canned fruits, canned meats, granola bars, cereal, diapers, feminine hygiene products, cleaners, and more.

Several Food Bank employees and volunteers sorted the food in bins ready to take to the Food Bank for distribution.
