Conservation Halton has announced their 2024 Wellness Series, beginning June 3 and running until August 27.

Park visitors will have access to more than 50 outdoor fitness classes from June to August this year. Open to ages 12+, this year’s classes will run at Area 8, Kelso, Crawford Lake, and Rattlesnake Point Conservation Areas.

"The 2024 Wellness Series offers individuals and families even more to do and experience this summer," said Craig Machan, director, parks and operations at Conservation Halton. "In our increasingly busy, digital world, it is important to have opportunities to get outside, get active, and reap the health benefits of physical activity in nature."

"We are proud to work with our partners to bring the Wellness Series back to our parks, and to make it easy and fun for visitors to add some outdoor exercise to their summer plans."

The 2024 Wellness Series offers the following outdoor fitness classes:

  • Yoga in the Park: Evening yoga sessions are open to all abilities to get grounded on their yoga mat in nature.

  • High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in the Park: This bootcamp style workout is led by a certified personal trainer and uses a variety of strength training equipment and body weight exercises to get a full body workout session.

  • Open-water Swims: Train in the open waters or enjoy a natural swim with a lifeguard team to keep you safe.

  • Guided Trail Runs: Explore park trails on a guided group run to develop stamina, endurance, and running techniques. All running abilities are welcome and no runner is felt behind.

  • Rock Climbing: Climb natural cliffs in a safe, facilitated environment and learn proper belaying and knot tying techniques.

With the purchase of a full-series pass, participants can register for as many classes as they like. Drop-in options are also available for visitors who would like to try out single sessions.
