The Town of Oakville has announced the various causes they will be recognizing by lighting up Town Hall, located at 1225 Trafalgar Road.

The exterior of Town Hall has multi-colour capable LED lights that can be used to display the official colours associated with a charitable or non-profit organization or a town event, in order to create awareness of or celebrate an organization or town event.

This month, the town has put out a list detailing the significance of the colours and the corresponding dates when they will be visible.

Dates include:

  • May 1, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31: Blue and green for Oakville Community Living
  • May 3, 4, 5: Blue and purple for Huntington's Disease Society of Canada
  • May 10, 11, 12: Purple for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
  • May 13: Yellow and green for Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Day
  • May 15: Blue and yellow for The Canadian Society for Mucopolysaccharide and Other Disorders
  • May 16: Gold for Moose Hide Campaign Day
  • May 17, 18, 19: Purple for Parphyria Awareness Day
  • May 20: Teal for Food Allergy Canada

When there are no recognition events scheduled, the default lighting is set to Oakville blue.
