Stunt driver in Oakville caught going 161km/h loses license and vehicle

A driver has been charged after they were allegedly caught stunt driving on the QEW at speeds over 160km/h. Police say the driver will face a 30 day license suspension and a 14 day vehicle impoundment.

A driver has been charged after they were allegedly caught stunt driving on the QEW at speeds of up to 161km/h. The car, a Honda Civic Sport, has been impounded and the driver is facing stunt driving charges. 

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division posted on X (formerly Twitter) that on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 3 a.m., a driver was stopped by Burlington OPP on the QEW in Oakville. 

The radar gun clocked the driver at 161km/h.

Police say the driver will face a 30-day license suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment which came automatically after the driver was charged with stunt driving.
