Tim Hortons locations throughout Halton are gearing up for the annual Smile Cookie charitable campaign.

Starting today, April 29, 2024, and lasting all week to Sunday, May 5, the tasty treats will be available for $1.50 plus tax, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to various local causes that are handpicked by Tim Hortons restaurant owners.

In Oakville, those who purchase cookies from the dozens of local Tim Hortons stores will benefit Food4Kids Halton, a local charity that feeds children before and fater school, in the summer, and on weekends. Their programs are in place at over 100 schools across Halton.

Smile Cookie personality pins – Loopy, Bugsy, Starry and Squirmy Smile Cookie – will also be available at participating restaurants.

"Our annual Smile Cookie campaign is a beloved and cherished tradition for Tim Hortons restaurant owners, team members and guests because of the amazing impact we can make together – while enjoying some delicious cookies," said Tim Hortons President Axel Schwan.

"Last year's Smile Cookie campaign raised a record-breaking $19.7 million and I know our guests will be rallying with us again this year to support over 600 charities and community groups and the amazing work they do."

The first Smile Cookie campaign launched in 1996 and originally raised funds for Hamilton Children's Hospital. Since then, the annual charitable campaign has raised a total of more than $111 million across North America for charities and organizations selected every year by Tim Hortons restaurant owners.

Recipients include local hospitals, community care organizations, food banks and schools.
