Popular Oakville dog park sets months-long closure, relocation planned

Starting today, April 1, 2024, the Sixteen Mile Leash-Free Dog Park is now temporarily closed, as pre-construction work begins for the expansion of Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.

North Oakville's Sixteen Mile Leash-Free Dog Park will close starting today, Monday, April 1, 2024, as pre-construction work begins for the expansion of Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.

The town says the area is undergoing preparations for the installation of volleyball, tennis, and pickleball courts.

The dog park is set to reopen in its new location at the north end of the Sixteen Mile community park "by summer 2024", though exact dates have not yet been specified.
