It's almost time to have some fun and celebrate those who work hard to save lives in Halton.

Paramedic Day is set for Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Woodlands Operations Centre, 1179 Bronte Road in Oakville.

Those who stop by can climb aboard an emergency vehicle, try on some tactical gear and have family fun with bouncy castles, face painting, crafts and more. This free event takes place rain or shine.

“I’m proud of our dedicated paramedics and the critical work they do in our community to keep us safe and healthy,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “We can always count on them to provide vital lifesaving medical care, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Paramedic Day is one way we can thank them for all they do as we celebrate Paramedic Services Week together.”

Participants can:

  • Meet members of the Paramedic Services team
  • Check out emergency vehicles and equipment
  • Learn the basics of CPR
  • Enjoy children’s activities
  • Get a bite to eat from local food vendors.

Every year, Halton Paramedics respond to more than 50,000 calls and transport nearly 30,000 people, treating patients on the scene and on the way to the hospital. They also deliver vital community programs, including the Community Paramedicine Program in partnership with other health agencies, and lifesaving and emergency training for residents and businesses across Halton.
