The Lions Club of Oakville kicked off their 2024 "Cruze" season at Oakville Place on Wednesday this week, with cars from lots of different eras and lots of different features.
From hot rods to muscle cars, exotic cars to tail draggers, there was lots to see and hear at the show.
"It's a fun evening and it's free for everyone to come out and look at the cars," says Trevor Jones of the Oakville Lions and Chair of this event.
Though Cruze Night has been an ongoing tradition in the community for the Lions over the last 18 years, this is only the second year the event has been hosted at Oakville Place and on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays.

"The guys come out with their classic cars, put them on display and they have fun" continued Jones.
Cruze Night raises funds for charity through donations and the 50/50 draw. According to Jones, last year's event raised $10,000 with half of the proceeds already given to Fare Share Food Bank Oakville. The rest of last year's proceeds still have to be decided as to where they will be allocated.
Jones says that the organization likes to research and find out which organizations need it most at the time and says that they like to keep all donations local.
Many of the car owners are from Oakville but some travel from out of town to show off their cars at as many Cruze Nights in different cities as they can. Some nights get so busy they sometimes end up turning cars away, but with a big space at the mall and with lots of foot traffic coming through, there's room for everyone to be part of the event.
The Lions Club of Oakville is currently accepting sponsors for their 2024 Cruze Night season which will run every Wednesday at Oakville Place on 240 Leighland Avenue from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. (weather permitting) until near the end of September.
